CONNECT YOUR PI

Set up your device

The status agent starts with your Pi and sends a small update every 20 seconds. It never uses GPIO or starts the motor.

  1. Download the device configuration

It contains a private key for this device only. Keep it off GitHub and do not share it.

  2. Copy the agent and configuration to your Pi

Follow the short installation notes in the Portal repository. Keep motor power off during setup.

  3. Install the status service

The device will appear online here. Its control page is shown as available only while your existing controller is running.

GOOD TO KNOW

Your devices, at a glance.

Local device means the Pi is checking in

Online means a status update arrived in the last 60 seconds. It does not confirm that this browser can reach the Pi’s local address or that motor power is on. The controls button separately shows whether the controller is running.

Remote access is not set up yet

This is separate from the Pi’s status report. A secure connection for opening its controls from outside your local network has not been configured.

↗
Open controls stays on your network

The link opens your existing controller in another tab. Its own password and Stop controls remain in place. Sign-in here does not sign you into the motor controller.

Another Pi? Add another device.

Each Pi has its own status key, configuration and control link. Set up its status service once, and it checks in on boot.

Motor power is a separate thing

This dashboard has no motor-power sensor or emergency Stop. Use the controller’s Stop button and physical power switch.
